About Inuyasha

Inuyasha is the protagonist in the manga and anime series "Inuyasha". He is part human, part Yokai (Japanese term for monster). Being only part monster, he initially intended to be full monster with the power of the Shikon Jewel.

In his quest for more power, he met and fell in love with Priestess Kikyo who guards the jewel Inuyasha was looking for. They grew romantic feelings for each other and this led Inuyasha to want to be full human instead so they can live a normal life. An antagonist, Naraku, foiled this plan by turning the two lovers against each other. This lead Kikyo to die, for the jewel to be burned with her, and for Inuyasha to be put to decades-long slumber. Eventually, Inuyasha meets Kagome (a lady from the future) and they embark on a journey to get all the shattered pieces of the Shikon Jewel.
