He may have been considered handsome by his contemporaries but Gaston’s personality is as ugly as it can get. Gaston’s arrogance and vanity overshadows his good looks and great physique, and is the main reason why Belle does not fancy him at all. Add to the fact that he tried to murder the Beast makes Gaston one of the most hated villains in Disney history.
