1Black-and-White Maid DressThe base of the look: a long black dress under a white ruffled apron. Noelle's version adds a crimson underskirt and gold trim over this same silhouette โ€” see the notes below for how to fake it.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
2White Shoulder ArmorA white pauldron worn over one shoulder only, not both. Cut the strap on one side or tuck it under an arm so it reads as a single armor piece rather than a symmetrical harness.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
3White Knight Gauntlet GlovesLong white gauntlet-style gloves for the armored arm โ€” the one under the shoulder piece. Gold paint pen along the cuff edge gets you the trim.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
4Short White GlovesA plain short glove for the other hand, which in-game is bare armor-free fabric, not gauntlet.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
5Red Satin Sash BowNoelle's single biggest color accent: an oversized red bow tied at the left hip over the apron strings. Tie it big and loose, not neat.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
6Red Rose Hair ClipsTwo dark red fabric roses, one clipped at each side of the head, framing the fringe.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
7Silver-White Bob WigNoelle has short, chin-to-shoulder length silver-white hair with a blunt fringe โ€” not a ponytail. A short bob wig with bangs is the right cut; avoid long or spiky styles.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
8White Knee-High SocksPlain white socks under the boots for the thigh-and-calf coverage her leg armor sits over.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
9Cosplay BootsPurpose-made for this character: white-and-silver ankle boots with a gold accent and a small red bow at the back, matching her actual footwear far better than a generic boot.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon
10Foam Claymore SwordNoelle fights with a plain, unadorned claymore โ€” no glowing runes or fantasy flourishes. This 43.5" foam two-handed sword is the right proportions and stays obviously fake, which most event weapon rules require.๐Ÿ›’ Check on Amazon

Noelle's whole design is one joke taken completely seriously: a maid's uniform built like a suit of armor. Get the silhouette from the reference art rather than guessing from "anime maid" costumes in general โ€” she is not wearing a French maid dress. The skirt is a heavy black underskirt with a scalloped white apron over it, and underneath both, a crimson-and-white pleated layer that flashes at the hem and through the slit where the black outer layer splits at the front. If your base dress doesn't have that red underlayer, a length of crimson fabric or a red circle skirt worn under the black dress and left to peek out at the bottom does the job.

The armor half of the outfit lives entirely on the right side of her body: a white-and-gold pauldron over the shoulder, a matching gauntlet running down that forearm to the hand, and knee-plate accents over white stockings on both legs. Her left arm, by contrast, is just a black fitted sleeve and a plain glove โ€” resist the urge to armor both arms symmetrically, since the asymmetry is part of what reads as "her" at a glance. A high collar with a red cravat-style bow sits at the neckline, echoing the bigger bow at her hip.

Hair is the detail most fan costumes get wrong: Noelle does not have a ponytail. It's a short, straight-ish silver-white bob that falls to about chin or shoulder length, parted with a small braid crossing the top of her head, and finished with a white maid headpiece (a pointed cloth kerchief with a small gold ornament) rather than a headband. Two dark red rose clips sit just above her ears. If you skip the headpiece, the rose clips alone still get her recognized.

For a lower-effort version: the black-and-white maid dress, wig, and rose clips carry the look on their own even without the armor pieces โ€” pair it with any dark red bow and you'll still read as Noelle to anyone who knows the game. For group costumes, she pairs naturally with other Knights of Favonius characters (Jean, Kaeya, Klee), or with any other Mondstadt-region Genshin cast.

About Noelle

Noelle is a playable character in Genshin Impact, the free-to-play action role-playing game from HoYoverse. She's a maid attached to the Knights of Favonius in the city-state of Mondstadt, and she's famous around the city for being impossibly reliable โ€” the kind of person who shows up to help with anything, whether or not it's technically her job. Her real goal is to become a full Knight herself rather than stay in support staff.

She's also, quietly, absurdly strong โ€” canonically capable of feats like carrying a fully-loaded cart on her own, something the game leans into for jokes at her expense. Noelle gained her Geo Vision after failing her seventh attempt at the Knights' official selection exam, when Acting Grand Master Jean recognized her devotion and pushed for her recognition anyway. In battle she fights as a Geo claymore user, able to shift between an offensive stance and a defensive one that shields her party โ€” mechanically as well as thematically, she's the maid who ends up protecting everyone else.

Noelle was voiced by Laura Faye Smith in English, who is also known for voicing Rosalina in the Super Mario franchise, and by Kanon Takao in the original Japanese version.
