There are many types of Imperial soldiers in the Galactic Empire, not just your regular Stormtroopers. One of those is the scout trooper. Scout troopers undergo special training that mostly involve reconnaissance. They are also better at long-range fire than Stormtroopers.
Another difference between a Stormtrooper and a scout trooper is their armor. Scout troopers have lighter armor since they need to be stealthier during their missions.
