Dr. Jay Garrick is the Earth-3 doppelganger of Earth-1’s Henry Allen – Barry Allen’s, Earth-1’s speedster, late father. At first, he was held captive by an evil meta-human speedster from Earth-2, and was rescued by Team Flash.
He would then work together with Barry and his team in their fight against evil forces. Garrick is a humble, good-natured and kind man, who just like his Earth-1 counterpart is shown to care deeply for Barry.
Dr. Jay Garrick is an exceptional scientist and engineer, a veteran speedster from Earth-3, and a retired vigilante formerly known as The Flash, whose code name is Crimson Comet. He wears his iconic red Flash jacket, blue leather pants, red knee-high boots, and his signature Flash helmet.

Jay Garrick was portrayed by John Wesley Shipp. Shipp is also known for his roles in Dawson's Creek, NYPD Blue, and The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter.
