About Doctor Manhattan

Doctor Manhattan is a character from the DC Comics title, Watchmen. His human name is Jonathan Osterman and was said to have been born in 1929. Jonathan's father was a watchmaker who later pushed him to take a career in nuclear physics. Jonathan later went to Princeton University and got a Ph.D. in atomic physics. When he worked with the US Government, he was given the code name "Doctor Manhattan" (referencing the Manhattan Project).
