About Romeo and Juliet
Romeo and Juliet are the titular characters in William Shakespeare’s classic of the same name. In 1996, a modern take on the story was delivered by the film “Romeo + Juliet”. The film still centers on the love story of the couple, as well as the age-old rivalries of their families, the Montagues and Capulets.
This film is set in a then-modern setting. Romeo first met Juliet in the film when the former decided to gatecrash a costume party hosted by Juliet’s family. They fell in a whirlwind romance which would lead to more trouble and their eventual deaths.
