Beth Harmon is the main character from The Queen's Gambit. She grew up in an orphanage where she learned chess from one of the caretakers. She was later adopted by an unhappy couple. Later on, Beth joins a series of chess competitions where she usually wins. She would later travel the world with her mother after winning competition after competition. The show is on Netflix and has won numerous awards.
