About Rorschach
Rorschach or Walter Kovacs, portrayed by Jackie Earle Haley, is one of the protagonists in a 2009 anti-hero movie Watchmen. As a young boy, Walter had a rough childhood where he was bullied by other kids a lot mainly because his mother was a prostitute. Walter grew up to see more of the grotesque side of the world, and it certainly shaped him. One day he saw on a newspaper that a young woman had been raped and tortured while her neighbors just watched, not calling the police.
For the shame of humanity Walter "...could bear to look at in the mirror" so he covered his face with the dead woman's fabric. Then he took the named "Rorschach," and fought crimes by night as he continued to work as a factory worker by day.
