Joey Jordison, Slipknot's founding drummer and member "#1", is easy to recognise even without his stage kit: a white face with black stripes, long dark hair and his snare drum held out in front of him. This guide follows that look, not a specific tour. Everything linked is a stand-in; no official band-made clothing or drum is included.

| # | Item | Description | Shop |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | White and Black Face Paint Set | Start with a white cream base over the whole face, then use the black to draw the stripes under the eyes and the lips. A set with brushes covers both colours. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 2 | Long Black Wig | Joey's hair is long, dark and hangs straight down past the shoulders. Pick this long black wig, or use your own hair if it is long enough. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 3 | Navy Quarter-Zip Jacket | A plain dark navy jacket with a zip-up collar. This is a close stand-in for the long-sleeved navy top in the photo. Size up so it hangs loose. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 4 | Slipknot Nonagram Patch | Sew or iron this onto the chest of the jacket. It's the nine-pointed star ring; the one in the photo is white and grey on navy, this one is red on navy, so it is a near match. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 5 | Navy Below-Knee Cargo Shorts | Baggy navy cargo shorts that end just below the knee, with pockets on the sides. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 6 | Black Knee-High Socks | Plain black socks pulled up between the shorts and the shoes. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 7 | Black Sneakers with White Stripes | Low black sneakers with three white stripes down the side. This pair has a pale sole, where the one in the photo looks white. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 8 | 14-Inch Black Snare Drum | The prop that finishes the look: a black snare drum held out in front of you with both hands. This is a real student drum and fairly heavy, so a cheaper option is below. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 9 | 5B Wood Tip Drumsticks | Tuck a pair in a back pocket or hold them instead of the drum. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
| 10 | White Style Mask | A shortcut if you don't want to paint your face: a white full-face mask with black markings. It is a fan-made replica, not official merchandise. | ๐ Check on Amazon |
How to Get the Details Right
- Paint the face in this order. White base first, let it dry, then add the black. Apply the white to your eyelids and the sides of the nose as well so the face looks flat. Set it with a light dusting of powder so it doesn't smear on the jacket collar.
- Draw the stripes straight. The black stripes run up and down through the eyes, and the lips are filled in black. Practise on the back of your hand first.
- Let the wig hang. Part it in the middle or leave it loose, and let it fall over both shoulders so it frames the painted face.
- Hold the drum low. In the photo the snare is held out at waist height in both hands. A strap makes it easier to hold for a long time.
- Dark on dark. The jacket, shorts and socks are all very dark, so only the face, patch and sneaker stripes stand out. Don't add bright colours.
Budget and Easy Options
- Skip the real snare. A 12-inch practice pad is lighter, cheaper and carries the drummer look.
- Use any navy hoodie or pullover with a zip collar you already own, and sew the patch on the chest.
- Wear your own dark cargo shorts or three-quarter pants.
- For a quick version, wear the mask (item 10) instead of the face paint. It looks less like the painted face in the photo.
Group Ideas
His Slipknot bandmates each wore a different mask. Put together a group of two or more with the Corey Taylor costume for the lead singer's look.
