Getting Kira's Look Right
- Colours: the reference decides here. In the manga colour art the suit is a soft lavender-blue, the shirt a mid green with yellow stripes, and the shoes a warm brown. The anime keeps the same outfit but pushes the suit toward a lighter violet. Pick whichever you like and keep the shirt and suit in contrast.
- The tie matters most: a plain black tie makes this a generic office-worker costume. The cat-eared skull is Killer Queen's own face, so wear the tie knotted neatly and straight.
- The hair: Kira's hair is loosely combed back, light blonde and wavy, with a few strands out of place. Rough the wig up a little with your fingers instead of leaving it perfectly smooth.
- The attitude: Kira wants to live a quiet life. Stand straight, keep a calm face, and do not smile much.
- Without the jacket: at home Kira usually takes the suit jacket off, so you can wear just the shirt, tie and trousers for a lazier look.
Alternate Looks and Budget Ideas
- All-in-one set: if you do not want to buy the pieces one by one, search for a ready-made Kira cosplay set. Many sell the suit, shirt and tie together, but they usually come out a stronger magenta-purple than the lavender in the source art. This set is an example, so check the colour before you commit.
- Kosaku Kawajiri disguise: after he kills Kosaku Kawajiri, Kira takes over his face and keeps his own suit, changing only to his usual skull tie. To do this version, wear a short black spiky wig with the same suit, shirt and tie.
- Killer Queen partner: Killer Queen is a tall white stand with cat ears. Have a friend wear a plain white costume with a cat-ear hood to stand behind you.
