About Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Raoul Duke is the main character in Hunter S. Thompson’s autobiograhical book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. It was later released into a film of the same name.
Raoul can be described as cynical and sometimes mentally unsound. In the film, he travels with a Dr. Gonzo through Nevada. Raoul was assigned by a magazine to cover an upcoming race. While traveling for work, he decided to spice the trip up with drugs and barely made it to Las Vegas before the drusg they took kicked in. The rest of the film follows their ill-advised antics.
Raoul Duke was portrayed by Johnny Depp and Dr. Gonzo was played by Benicio Del Toro.
