Darla Marks is a stereotypical character in the high school setup. We’ve all met a few Darlas in our lives. She’s gorgeous (and knows it) with a bitchy attitude, and a self-proclaimed ‘head girl’ because of it. It doesn’t help that she also loves making incoming freshmen’s lives miserable before they even step into high school!
And then there’s David Wooderson. We’ve also met a few Davids in our lives, for sure. David’s high school was probably the best years of his life. Unfortunately, he can’t seem to let it go. So he’s getting old but to make himself feel cool, he hangs out with the younger kids.
While Darla and David would make for really disturbing people in real life, you can’t say they’re not entertaining to watch on the big screen!

David Wooderson was portrayed by Matthew McConaughey. McConaughey is also known for a number of his roles which includes films like Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar, and Magic Mike.
