The Spartan Cheerleaders were recurring characters in Saturday Night Live during the 1990s. They initially tried out for the cheering squad in which they unfortunately did not make the cut. The Spartans decided to cheer on their own. They led unusual cheerleading routines at school functions with no invitation and eventually cheered in places entirely out of school context.
The Spartan Cheerleaders are a pair of awkward and self-conscious students. They wear a black sweater with red and white details, red pants for men, a pleated white skirt with black and red details for women, and white canvas sneakers.

Arianna was portrayed by Cheri Oteri. Oteri is also known for her roles in Scary Movie, Southland Tales, Liar Liar, and Inspector Gadget.
Craig Buchanan was portrayed by Will Ferrell. Ferrell is also known for his roles in Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Anchorman 2: the Legend Continues, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and Blades of Glory.
