About Edward Kenway
Edward Kenway, or Edward James Kenway, is an assassin who’s the protagonist in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, one out of many games from the famous Assassin’s Creed series. Kenway is a Welsh-born British privateer who turned to a pirate, and also a member of British Brotherhoods of Assassins.
After joining the Creed, Edward goes to London and marry the woman named Tessa Stephenson-Oakleyafter. Soon later they become parents of young Haytham Kenway, who would grow up to be the antagonist in Assassins’s Creed III; ironically, Edward is also a grandfather of the protagonist in the same game named Connor Kenway.
In his early stage of life, Edward was struggle with an internal conflict where he got lost in fame and glory, because he believed he deserves better than what his poor background offered to him, and so it made him decide to be a pirate after being dismissed from Royal Navy.
Even when being in The Creed, Edward still couldn’t let go of his ultimate goal. However, his greedy ambition didn’t last forever when he realized that he had lost a lot of good friends while he was trying to achieve his goals. Edward then changed for the better with help of the Creed.
Despite his hunger for fame and glory, Edward Kenway is a brave and reckless man with a remarkable sailing skill, and later becomes a man of combat skills. Eventually, Edward earns his rank of a Master Assassin and then a leader in the Creed.
