Chica is the easiest read of the four animatronics because of one item: the bib. Solid yellow fur is a chicken costume; add the white "LET'S EAT!!!" bib and it's unmistakably Chica.
The licensed jumpsuit has the bib printed directly onto the fabric, which is worth going with over assembling your own — a separate fabric or paper bib tends to shift and wrinkle over a night of wear, and the exact typeface and splatter-paint styling on the text is hard to replicate by hand. The overhead mask is the only mask option here (unlike Freddy, Foxy and Bonnie, Chica doesn't have a half-mask version), so plan for a warmer night and breaks to cool off if you're wearing it for hours.
The detail most costumes skip is the cupcake. Chica carries a small plate holding a cupcake with its own face — commonly nicknamed Mr. Cupcake — everywhere she goes, and it's as much a part of her design as Bonnie's guitar or Foxy's hook. The licensed shoulder-sitter version clips or perches in place so you're not stuck holding a plate the entire night, but a plain pink cupcake plush with the eyes drawn or pinned on works as a budget stand-in.
Chica completes the house band lineup: Freddy Fazbear fronting the stage, Bonnie on guitar, and Foxy out in Pirate Cove. Group photos read best with all four fur colors together — brown, purple, red and yellow.
About Chica
Chica the Chicken is one of the four original animatronics in Scott Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's, first released August 8, 2014. She performs alongside Freddy Fazbear and Bonnie on the pizzeria's main stage by day, and like the rest of the cast, roams the building at night once the restaurant closes.
Chica is characterized in-game by the "LET'S EAT!!!" bib and her cupcake prop, and by a tendency to linger in and around the kitchen — one of the few rooms in the original game the player can't directly monitor, which makes the sound of her rattling around inside it one of the series' earliest tension beats. Like her bandmates, she's recurred throughout the franchise in increasingly damaged and reimagined forms across later entries.
In the 2023 film adaptation directed by Emma Tammi, Chica was brought to life as a practical animatronic suit performed by Jess Weiss, alongside Kevin Foster as Freddy and Jade Kindar-Martin as Bonnie.
