Foxy is the one animatronic on this list who's supposed to look broken, and that's what makes the costume fun to build: he's not pristine like his bandmates, he's decades of wear and a botched repair. Lean into rust-red fur, a hook, an eyepatch, and damage rather than a clean fox suit.
The reference point is Pirate Cove, not a stage. Foxy spent years out of commission behind a curtain, and it shows — his fur is patchier and dirtier than the other three, with the endoskeleton visible through torn spots at the chest, hips and legs. If you want to push the look further than the licensed jumpsuit alone, rough up the fabric: cut a few small tears at the chest and thighs with scissors, fray the edges, and rub in some grey and black fabric chalk or eyeshadow to dull the red and suggest exposed metal underneath. A little goes a long way — you want "damaged animatronic," not "shredded costume."
The hook and the eyepatch are what make Foxy instantly readable across a room, so don't skip either even if you're assembling the look from separate pieces instead of the licensed jumpsuit. The hook replaces the right hand entirely — hold it out stiffly rather than tucking it away. Foxy's jaw is also famously loose and hangs open unevenly on the animatronic; if you're doing your own face instead of the mask, sharpened white teeth and a slightly crooked open-mouth expression reads closer to the character than a full snarl.
Foxy pairs naturally with the rest of the house band for a group costume: Freddy Fazbear in his top hat and bow tie, Bonnie in purple with his guitar, and Chica in yellow with her cupcake. Foxy is the odd one out in the lineup by design — everyone else is clean and stage-ready, so keep his weathering visible next to the others rather than matching their polish.

Foxy the Pirate Fox is one of the four original animatronics at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in Scott Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's, first released August 8, 2014. Where Freddy, Bonnie and Chica perform together on the main stage, Foxy operates solo out of Pirate Cove, a curtained-off attraction he was pulled from after an incident involving a customer — one of the game's earliest pieces of in-universe lore, delivered obliquely rather than explained outright.
Mechanically, Foxy behaves differently from the other animatronics too: rather than slowly creeping toward the player, he sprints down the hallway if the security camera doesn't check on him often enough, making him one of the more feared threats in the original game. His design reflects his backstory — visibly older and more damaged than his bandmates, with an exposed endoskeleton, a hook for a hand, and an eyepatch.
In the 2023 film adaptation, Foxy's vocal performance — including the character's pirate song — was provided by Kellen Goff, alongside practical animatronic suits for Freddy (Kevin Foster), Bonnie (Jade Kindar-Martin) and Chica (Jess Weiss).
