About Ellie Sattler
Like Alan Grant, Ellie (Ellen) Sattler, played by Laura Dern, is one of the main characters who appear in the first and the third movie in the Jurassic Park franchise. Her character is a paleobotanist, a paleontologist who specializes in the field of prehistoric plants, and she is Alan Grant’s study partner in the first movie. Ellie and Alan are invited to the Isla Nublar, the island where Jurassic Park established. Then, like Alan and other character, she faces the dinosaur on rampage situation.
In the third film, Ellen becomes a children’s writer and appears to be married with Mark Degler and have two children together. However, she never gets to return to the islands again. Ellie is described to be a feisty, adventurous, and independent young woman, and she also has a kind-hearted sense of humor. In the first movie we also learn that Ellie loves children when she and Alan have a conversion about kids, in which he announces that he despises them.
