Sue Storm's newest look comes from The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025), where Vanessa Kirby plays her in a retro-futuristic take on the classic uniform β€” a lighter, powder-blue suit with silver-white trim instead of the darker navy-and-black versions from the 2005 and 2007 films. It's the version most people searching for this costume mean right now, and it's easy to put together from one main piece.

1Blue & White Ribbed Superhero Jumpsuit with "4" EmblemThe whole suit in one piece: a pale blue ribbed bodysuit with a white mock-neck yoke across the shoulders, the circular white-and-blue "4" chest emblem, a sewn-in white belt, and attached white boot covers. It's built specifically off this film's design.πŸ›’ Check on Amazon
2White Wrist-Length Costume GlovesShort gloves that stop at the wrist, matching the suit's white collar and cuffs rather than going full elbow-length opera style.πŸ›’ Check on Amazon
3Long Wavy Blonde WigSue wears her hair long, loosely waved, and parted just off-center. This wig gets the length and texture without bleaching your own hair.πŸ›’ Check on Amazon
4White Knee-High BootsAn optional swap for anyone who'd rather wear real boots than the suit's attached fabric boot covers β€” same white color, low block heel, easier to stand around in all night.πŸ›’ Check on Amazon

The suit does most of the work here: the ribbed texture, the white yoke across the shoulders, and the "4" emblem are all printed and sewn into the one piece, so there's no separate patch or belt to hunt down. If you look closely at the reference stills, the belt has a small rectangular buckle with a raised detail on it, almost like a piece of hardware β€” a strip of silver duct tape or a dab of metallic paint on a plain buckle gets you most of the way there if you're building the suit from separate pieces instead.

Hair and makeup stay simple: soft waves, a light middle part, and otherwise natural, unfussy makeup β€” nothing about Sue's styling reads as heavily done-up. If you want the older, darker blue-and-black uniform from the 2005/2007 films or the comics instead, our Fantastic Four team guide is built around that version and covers the rest of the team too.

About Sue Storm / Invisible Woman

Susan "Sue" Storm, the Invisible Woman, is one of the founding members of the Fantastic Four, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first appearing in Fantastic Four #1 in 1961. She can turn herself and other objects invisible and generate psionic force fields strong enough to punch, shield, or fly on β€” abilities she gained alongside her husband Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), her younger brother Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), and their friend Ben Grimm (the Thing) after they were exposed to cosmic radiation.

In The Fantastic Four: First Steps, directed by Matt Shakman, Sue is played by Vanessa Kirby. The film is set on an alternate Earth in a retro-futuristic 1960s New York, where the team gained their powers on a space mission aboard the ship Excelsior. Much of the story follows Sue's pregnancy with her and Reed's first child; when the world-eater Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson) threatens Earth, he forces her into premature labor, and she gives birth to their son, Franklin Richards, in the middle of the film's climax. Galactus's herald in this version is Shalla-Bal, the Silver Surfer, played by Julia Garner.

Vanessa Kirby is also known for playing Princess Margaret in The Crown, for which she won a BAFTA, for the Mission: Impossible franchise, and for an Oscar-nominated lead performance in Pieces of a Woman. She's set to reprise Sue Storm in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
