Allan is Ken’s friend (and less popularly known, Midge’s husband and father of her child). He is awkward and very much unlike Ken because he is less happy-go-lucky. Allan is sick of life in Barbie Land an wants to get a chance for change. In the 2023 film, Allan even wants to escape Barbie Land with the people from the Real World and be far away from the other dolls.
Allan and Ken are the same size in clothes, so they can actually share outfits if they want. To look like Allan, you will need to wear a colorful striped shirt, blue shorts, and black flip flops.
About Allan
Allan was portrayed by Michael Cera. Cera is also known for his roles in Superbad, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Juno.
After learning Cera’s role in the 2023 Barbie film, Bryan O’Malley (the creator of the Scott Pilgrim comics) drew Scott Pilgrim in Allan’s iconic outfit. Both characters have been portrayed by Cera before.
