Ella Enchanted is the heroine in the 2004 musical fantasy comedy film Ella Enchanted, which is also generally based on a 1997 novel of the same name by Gail Carson Levine. Ella of Frell magically obeys instantly and literally any command that is given her (even if she does not want to do it), as her unwise fairy godmother gave to her the “gift” of obedience when she was just a newborn.
