About Glinda
Glinda Upland is a character from the novel Wicked by Gregory Maguire, the 2003 Broadway musical it inspired, and the two-part film adaptation Wicked (2024) and Wicked: For Good (2025), directed by Jon M. Chu. Ariana Grande plays Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. Glinda starts as a popular, self-absorbed student at Shiz University who becomes an unlikely friend to the green-skinned Elphaba, and eventually the Good Witch who welcomes Dorothy to Oz in The Wizard of Oz.
Wicked: For Good opened in U.S. theaters on November 21, 2025. Costume designer Paul Tazewell built Glinda's pink gown as an homage to Billie Burke's Glinda in the 1939 Wizard of Oz, filtered through a more modern silhouette.
