About Mr. Snuffleupagus
Mr. Snuffleupagus (or Aloysius Snuffleupagus) is a character in the long-running, multi-awarded, American educational children’s television series Sesame Street. He is the gentle furry creature and elephant-looking friend of Big Bird, who everybody thinks is just an imaginary friend as none of them ever sees him, particularly the adults in the neighborhood. He is four and a half years old and weighs 1,000 pounds.
Mr. Snuffleupagus was voiced by Jerry Nelson. Nelson is also known for his roles in The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, The Secret Life of Toys, and Muppet Treasure Island.
