A lot of people passionately want at least one thing in their lives. For the Scarecrow, it’s to have brains. While he might be naïve, clueless, and awkward, the Scarecrow makes up for that with his sweet and gentle disposition. Scarecrow also sees how friendship is more important than things like fame and fortune. He’s Dorothy’s first friend in Oz and first companion on her journey to see the Wizard.
Scarecrow (like his name suggests) is a scarecrow and he looks like one too. He’s made of actual straw but for some reason became animate.
