About Blaze Manoukian
Blaze Manoukian is a new character in Toy Story 5, voiced by Mykal-Michelle Harris. Her family, the Manoukians, has moved into a farmhouse, and after a joyful game with Blaze, Jessie decides to introduce her to Bonnie. She is half-Armenian and half-Black.
Her hair was a technical challenge: Pixar developed a new system to render tightly coiled hair, and the studio's visual effects supervisor said it will help future films show more diverse hair. Blaze also ranked as the audience favorite after Jessie in preview screenings, according to producer Lindsey Collins.
Toy Story 5 was directed by Andrew Stanton. It premiered in Los Angeles on June 9, 2026, opened in U.S. theaters on June 19, and has grossed more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
