Archie’s Overall Outfit
Riverdale Archie is pretty plain when it comes down to his clothes. He keeps his outfit nice and simple with long-sleeve Henley t-shirts, blue jeans and lace-up fashion sneakers. From time to time he can be spotted wearing a cardigan or his varsity jacket.
No patterns, no bright colors. These outfits are designed to highlight Archie’s athletic features and make him look like the stereotypical high school football star.
Riverdale Archie VS Comicbook Archie
There’s very little resemblance between Riverdale Archie and the comic book version. You could almost say these are two completely different characters except for a couple of details, like the fact that they’re both heartbreakers, athletes, musicians…and gingers. One aspect does contrast like water and oil though, their wardrobes.
Riverdale Archie is all about simplicity and comfort. Plain Henley T-shirts, short-sleeve t-shirts, cardigans, blue jeans and sneakers. His varsity jacket would be the single, most recognizable piece of clothing in Archie’s outfit.
Comic book Archie, on the other hand, used to be a whole lot flashier and the embodiment of 40’s fashion. At first, he would wear red, orange or yellow plaid pants with short-sleeve shirts and black sweater vests with a gigantic yellow “R”, which became a recurrent item in his outfits. Sure, his taste might have changed with the times, but he did maintain that Mr. Goody Two-Shoes vibe about him 'til very recently.

Archibald “Archie” Andrews, played by KJ Apa, might be better known to younger audiences by the TV series Riverdale, but truth be told, this is one of the oldest comic book characters in history. Just so you have an idea, The Golden Age of Comic Books started in 1934. Archie’s first appearance was published by Pep Comics in 1942, which means he’s only four years younger than Superman.
it was only logical that with the rise of horror comedy series, Archie would make some changes to stay relevant to a younger generation. Some things stay the same though. He’s still a musician at heart and eternally involved in a love triangle with Betty and Veronica. He goes to Riverdale High and for a brief period of time he was the captain of the football before devoting himself completely to “music”.
