|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Brown Furry Bodysuit | A hooded, footed sherpa-fleece onesie in solid brown β covers the whole body in one piece and matches Labubu's classic shaggy fur colorway. | π Check on Amazon |
| 2 | Pointy Ear Headband | Tall, upright tan ears on a headband β closer to Labubu's pointed, elf-like ears than a floppy rabbit-ear style. | π Check on Amazon |
| 3 | Furry Gloves | Short-pile brown fur gloves that carry the fur texture down to the hands. | π Check on Amazon |
| 4 | Toothy Grin Mask | A flat mask hand-painted with a wide, jagged-toothed grin and molded pointy ears in one piece. Wear this instead of the headband above if you want full face coverage rather than painting the grin on yourself. | π Check on Etsy |
| 5 | Beige Monster Doll Onesie with Face Hood | A one-piece Labubu-style monster jumpsuit in beige with a hood that has the face, pointed ears and toothy grin built in. It replaces items 1-4, so wear it on its own. | π Check on Amazon |
| 6 | Brown Monster Doll Onesie with Face Hood | The same style of full costume in brown, with a lighter inner ear, for the classic brown-tan Labubu colourway. | π Check on Amazon |
| 7 | Brown Plush Monster Hood | A soft brown hood with tall ears that tie under the chin. Wear it with the brown sweatsuit idea below if you don't want a full onesie. | π Check on Amazon |
| 8 | Furry Full-Body Mascot Suit (Etsy) | A made-to-order furry brown Labubu mascot suit with a full head and pink feet. It's the most screen-accurate option, but it is expensive. Pink and other colour mascot suits are also on Etsy. | π Check on Etsy |
The cheapest full costumes are the onesies in items 5 and 6, and the mascot suit in item 8 is the most exact one. No Amazon listing is an exact "Labubu mask", so the made-to-order Etsy mask above is the closest full-face option. If you'd rather keep your own face visible, skip it and go with the headband plus painted-on grin described below.
Don't want a full onesie? Build it from your own wardrobe instead: a brown or tan sweatsuit, the furry gloves above, and the ear headband. Paint a wide close-mouthed-to-ear grin in white or cream around your mouth with jagged black outlines for the teeth, and ring your eyes heavily in black eyeliner to read as big and round from a distance.
Getting the details right
- Tall, pointed ears, not floppy. Labubu's ears stand straight up and come to a point, more like an elf's or a fox's than a lop-eared rabbit's β the shape reads as alert and slightly mischievous, which is the point.
- A wide grin of small, jagged teeth. The signature expression is a close-eyed or wide-eyed grin showing nine small, sharp, uneven teeth from ear to ear. It's what makes Labubu read as impish rather than simply cute β don't soften it into a normal smile.
- Big, round, glossy eyes. The eyes are large, dark and wide-set, with a bright highlight dot that keeps the mischievous grin from reading as scary.
- Brown/beige is the classic, but far from the only colorway. The original figure is a warm brown-tan all over with a lighter, pinkish patch inside the ears. Pop Mart has since released Labubu in dozens of blind-box colors β pink, mint green, lavender, black, gold and more β so a costume in any solid fur color with the right ears, grin and eyes is still recognizable. Brown is the safest default if you want to be identified at a glance.
- Fur texture is short and slightly shaggy, not a long plush pile β a sherpa-fleece or short-pile onesie reads closer to the actual figure's vinyl-and-flocking finish than a deep, fluffy costume fur would.
About Labubu
Labubu is a character from The Monsters, an illustrated toy line created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung. Lung developed the character after moving to the Netherlands as a child, drawing on Nordic folklore and fairy tales about elves and forest creatures; the first Monsters picture books were published in 2015, and figurines followed soon after through the toy company How2Work.
Labubu's popularity took off after Chinese collectible-toy retailer Pop Mart began producing the figures in blind boxes starting in 2019, selling them sealed so buyers don't know which character or colorway they've gotten until they open the box β a format that has driven repeat purchases and a resale market for rare "secret" editions.
The character went globally viral starting in late April 2024, after Blackpink member Lisa was seen with a Labubu keychain on her bag, which set off a wave of attention across social media. Other celebrities including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and David Beckham were later spotted with Labubu figures of their own, and the trend spread from East and Southeast Asia into Western pop culture through 2024 and 2025. The Monsters blind-box line generated more than $419 million in revenue for Pop Mart in 2024 alone, and in June 2025 a 1.2-meter mint-green Labubu figure sold at auction in Beijing for roughly $170,000.
