Doctor Doom has two looks this year. The comic-book Doom is steel-gray armor under a bright green hood and cloak. The new one is Robert Downey Jr.'s version for Avengers: Doomsday, out December 18, 2026: darker, heavier and covered in engraved metal. Both start with the mask, so that's where to spend the money.

The film isn't out yet, so this look follows Marvel's official promo art and merchandise. Downey's Doom is built from mixed materials: weathered metal plates, quilted fabric, worn leather and etched runes, rather than one smooth suit of armor. His mask is the same iron mask, hidden under a deep hood so only the eyes catch the light.

"Doctor Doom mask" is the most searched part of this costume, and there are three good options:
- Movie Doom: the official Doomsday mask with the hood is the cheapest way to get the film's look, and the eyes light up.
- Comic Doom: a silver riveted mask with the flat comic-book brow and grille mouth.
- Display quality: a hard resin Doctor Doom mask if you plan to wear it more than once.
Skip the gladiator-style masks sold as "MF DOOM" masks. The rapper took his name from the character, but the mask isn't the same.

About Doctor Doom
Victor von Doom is Marvel's greatest villain, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and first seen in Fantastic Four #5 in 1962. Born a Romani outcast in the small country of Latveria, Doom lost his mother young and swore to master both science and magic to save her soul. At college in New York he built a machine to reach her, but it exploded and scarred his face. He was expelled, and Doom blamed his classmates instead of himself.
He then traveled to a Tibetan monastery, where the monks helped him forge his armor. Doom put on the iron mask, returned to Latveria, took the throne and turned the country's resources toward conquering the world. His schemes have put him against the Fantastic Four more than anyone else.
In the MCU, Robert Downey Jr. plays Victor von Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, directed by the Russo brothers and released December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars to follow on December 17, 2027. It marks Downey's return to the MCU after Iron Man's final appearance in Avengers: Endgame.
