Remmick is the Irish vampire who leads the horde in Sinners, and the look people recreate is plain 1930s working-man clothing with blood on it. There is no cape or fancy suit: just a collarless shirt, suspenders and wide trousers, which makes it one of the cheapest vampire costumes to put together. The red stains and fangs do the rest.

| 6 | Coagulated Fake Blood Gel | Smear blood on the neck, chin, collar and sleeves, as in his scenes. Dab it on after you are dressed so it looks soaked in. | π Check on Amazon |
| 7 | Vampire Fangs | Adult-sized fangs that fit over your teeth. Plain and slightly irregular is better than long and theatrical. | π Check on Amazon |
| 8 | Inflatable Toy Banjo | A cheap blow-up banjo prop. Remmick is an Irish vampire who sings and plays Irish folk music in his scene, and the banjo is part of that, so carry it as his instrument. It's obviously a toy, easy to carry around a crowded venue, and fine for photos. If you play, a real Irish tenor four-string banjo looks right too. | π Check on Amazon |
Getting the details right
- Keep the clothes plain. Remmick's costume is workwear from 1930s farm country, not a vampire costume. Skip the cape, collar and fancy buttons.
- The blood is the costume. Stain the neck, the front of the shirt and both forearms. Let it look dried and uneven, not bright and neat.
- Wear it wide. The trousers are high-waisted and full in the leg, with a cuff, so avoid slim fits.
- Dark short hair. He has short, dark, messy brown hair, so skip the gel and tousle it.
- Bring the banjo. Remmick plays a banjo in his scene, so it's the prop that makes a plain shirt-and-suspenders outfit recognizable. The inflatable banjo is easy to carry, and a real tenor banjo looks right too if you play.
- Distressing helps. A pass with a sanding block and a little brown fabric paint on the knees and hem takes away the new look.
Remmick costume ideas to go with it
- Remmick and the twins: pair him with Smoke and Stack for the Sinners face-off.
- The thralls: add a friend as a freshly turned vampire thrall in a torn 1930s dress or work shirt, with the same blood and fangs.
- Couples: Annie and Mary are the natural pairs from the film.
About Remmick
Remmick is the antagonist of Ryan Coogler's Sinners (2025), played by Jack O'Connell. He is an Irish vampire who comes to the Mississippi Delta juke joint run by the twins Smoke and Stack, offering money and music in exchange for entry, and turning people into thralls who share his hive mind while keeping their own personalities. Coogler has said that Remmick identifies with the Black characters through the shared experience of forced labour, which makes him more than a standard monster.
The film was released on April 18, 2025, and Ruth E. Carter's costume design earned an Academy Award nomination. For more on the story, see the Sinners guide.
